Founded
in Milan in 2009, Hannes Peer Architecture is a
multidisciplinary design studio rooted in a commitment to
craftsmanship, cultural depth, and architectural rigor. Led by
Hannes Peer, the studio draws from his South Tyrolean heritage
and international experiences, including formative years at OMA
in Rotterdam and Zvi Hecker in Berlin. This background
informs a design philosophy that embraces eclecticism—not as a
mere aesthetic, but as a holistic approach to blending
historical context, cultural narratives, and cutting-edge
innovation.
The studio’s work spans diverse scales and typologies, from large-scale hospitality projects to intimate residential designs, as well as collaborations with global brands and niche design galleries. Each project reflects a deep exploration of materials—wood, marble, ceramics, textured metals—and a focus on layering meaning and narrative into every space. Signature elements include dynamic textures, subtle transparencies, and the interplay of natural light, creating immersive environments that feel timeless yet contemporary.
A dedication to residential design is central to the studio’s ethos, with each project capturing a sense of intimacy, comfort, and refined sophistication. In hospitality, the studio’s projects, such as the recently completed The Manner Hotel in SoHo, New York, and the hotel addition Spazio46 in Meran, South Tyrol, highlight a talent for creating spaces that marry local heritage with global influences, all through a deeply narrative-driven lens.
Beyond architecture, *Hannes Peer Architecture* integrates product and furniture design into its practice, with collaborations that include global leaders like Minotti and Baxter, as well as collectible designs for galleries such as Nilufar in Milan and Blend Gallery in Rome. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that the studio’s work is cohesive yet boundary-pushing, exploring new possibilities across all aspects of design.
Consistently recognized on the Architectural Digest AD100 and Elle Decor A-List, *Hannes Peer Architecture* continues to redefine the intersection of architecture, design, and craftsmanship, creating spaces and objects that resonate with depth, originality, and timeless appeal.
